Oldham's page brings together four fishing lakes, taking in Alexandra Park Lake, Crime Lake, Dovestone Reservoir and Strinesdale Reservoirs. That is the full count for this page, not a wider regional figure, so it is a compact list rather than an exhaustive one, but it does put a town park lake alongside two named reservoirs, which is worth knowing before deciding where to head.
Between them, these four venues give a sense of what Oldham itself offers anglers, without drawing on anything beyond the town. If four options do not cover what you are looking for, Manchester's page lists 10 venues and sits close enough to be worth a look, though the choice on this page stands on its own.
